December 2012 Meeting

Thext quarterly meeting of Conference will be held at Moseley Cricket Club, Solihull on Saturday 1st December starting at 2.00pm.

The Next 50 years

It was agreed by the Executive Committee at the meeting in September that we would conduct a survey of all members to establish our strengths and weaknesses. A questionnaire has now been sent to all members seeking views, which, when assimilated, will enable us to form a strategy for the next fifty years.

Within hours of issuing the questionnaire three member leagues had responded with positive feedback. It would be extremely gratifying if all members would respond by the 20th November deadline.

The Updates refer to the Samll Charitable Donations Bill, notes on the impact of the National Planning Policy rewview, and a variety of other topical issues with potential impact on clubs.

The Small Charitable Donations Bill 2012

The impact of the proposed Small Charitable Donations Bill may well cause clubs to reconsider their position with regard to Community Amateur Sports Club status. Clubs already benefitting from the CASC status will, when the Bill becomes Law, be able to access further funding from HMRC relating to small donations below £20. In effect clubs could benefit to the tune of up to £5000 per annum as gift aid relating to an accumulation of small donations of £20 or less.
